Next Thursday 4th of June, two members of Space Group, Bilge Serin and I, will present our current research at the AESOP Urban Cultures and Public Spaces in Glasgow. It will be an occasion for discussing with other scholars some theoretical aspects of our work. I would suggest that our different strands of research may encounter each other someday. Whereas meaning of public space may have a relevant role in the promotion of health and well-being, the process of branding, control and commodification of many residential open spaces raises also the issue of, as A. Cuthbert questioned, "whose urban design?".
